Privacy notice
UK GDPR notice · last updated 18 October 2026.
PassBritain is the controller of personal data collected through passbritain.co.uk. Contact: hello@passbritain.co.uk.
What we collect
- Email address, if you sign in or join the newsletter.
- Payment identifiers from Stripe (we do not store full card numbers).
- Practice progress you choose to save (attempts, mistakes, flashcards).
- Technical logs needed to run the site (IP address, user agent).
Why we use it
To create your account, grant paid access, send the newsletter you asked for, improve the product, and meet legal duties. The lawful bases are contract, legitimate interests (keeping the service secure and useful), and consent for email marketing.
Who we share it with
Stripe processes payments. Neon hosts the database. Resend sends magic-link and newsletter email if those services are configured. Vercel hosts the application. We do not sell your data. If we ever show advertising or affiliate links, they will be labelled.
How long we keep it
Account and entitlement records are kept while you have access and for a limited period afterwards for tax and dispute handling. You can ask us to delete your account. Newsletter consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Your rights
You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and you can object to some processing. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). We do not make solely automated decisions that have legal effects about immigration status — we cannot, and we must not.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for your sign-in session and, in demo mode, to remember a simulated purchase. We do not use advertising cookies.
